Case Studies
The Case Studies are designed to be real world scernarios that might be done by a technician or a user of geospatial technology. Each Case Study will require the use of multiple sckills. In the first case study you are only required to use the skills obtained in the lessons covered prior to the first case study. In the other case studies you should use what was leaned in the lessons prior to that case study and all lessons learned to this point. The case studies are designed to allow the learner to go beyond the basic parameters listed in the case study. To receive maximum points on any case study you must go beyond the scope of what is discussed in the case study, so allowing the learner to develop their own unique way to explain the solution to the problem will be extremely important in the case studies as well as in the future as a geospatial technician. Each of the four case studies have unique parameters established, but also have a unique person/group that the work is being done for. The report should be written to the appropriate individual or group which will require different ways in which the solution is written. There is not a single correct answer to problem and different learners may have drastically different results with the same data. The case studies allow as much flexibility as possible, such as the geographical location in general is not selected but left to the learner to select.
