Clipping A Shapefile Extracting Of Data
Concept: The purpose of this exercise is to take a polygon surface and clip data contained within the polygon to create a new shapefile. For example, if you had a map of the roadways of a state and you wanted only to look at those roads which were in a specific county you could use the county boundary as the clipping surface to extract the roads of that county from the state road map.
