Dynamic Zoom Showing Features Based On Zoom Level
Concepts: The concept of this exercise is to display different data at different zoom levels automatically. You will create several at different zoom levels, each showing different amounts of information. Make sure that you are using the automatic zooming tools.

Data: All Data should be located at: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1unpQ6Tgx-YzTcUjUctOjkdvpR22h7is7 or you can use the links below for download or your own data. Required maps include: U.S. County boundary map, a U.S. State boundary map, a U.S. Metropolitan area map and a Kentucky Zip Codes Map, other maps may be used.
Requirements: Send a map package to your instructor via of the content management system for the class (Blackboard) so it can be examined for proper zoom levels usage and a map image for part 1.
1. Map image of the entire US with all layers turned on and visible, this image should be made prior to setting up the dynamic zooms for the other parts of the assignment.
For parts 2 to 5 your instructor will zoom the map in the project file provided. When the instructor is at the descriptive zoom level, the following should be observed.
2. Map of the United States with only state boundaries showing when viewing the entire country, done with dynamic zoom.
3. Map of the selected part of the United States with county boundaries displayed, this is done by creating a zoom level, not by turning on and off layers manually. The counties should appear when you are at a zoom level of a few states. Make sure the county boundaries are displayed in a different color and/or symbolism than the state boundary files and on top of the state boundaries.
4. Map of Kentucky with zip codes displayed when zoomed to about half of the state of Kentucky, with above information still visible, make sure the color for zip code boundaries are different then county boundaries. If a state other than Kentucky was select the same parameters apply.
5. Map of above information when zoomed to about a quarter of state, with labels for county names and zip code numbers visible.
Grading Ruberic:
10% of total grade for part 1 image.
10% for concept 2, state boundaries visible.
30% for concept 3, counties boundaries visible when zoomed to a few states.
30% for concept 4, view zip code boundaries when zoomed to about half of the state.
20% for concept 5, use of dynamic labels in conjunction with dynamic feature zoom.
Additional points can be awarded for any part that goes beyond the assignment requirements.
